I was wondering if there was a switchbox out there that I can plug into my SB Live, then plug my speakers and headsets into the switchbox. It is a royal pain to get to the back of the case to unplug speakers ..then plug in headset. I just want to be able to switch between the 2 without all the hassles....

You can probably make your own for about $12 at Radio Shack. Just get two headphone jacks and a switch, a little soldering and ta-da. If you want to make it look pretty you could build it into a film canister (on of those plastic ones) or a Tic-Tac box (pastic again).

or you can actually get an audio switch box and adapters...

audio switch boxes do exist, but are RCA... you'll need rca to stereo minipluy adapters.

if you're handy, do what thorin mentioned.

This is why I'm looking at a USB headset. Telec H-551 to be exact. :)

The new Turtle Beach Santa Cruz has the Versajack which can be employed here as well.

thanks John P! Thats what i am looking for, but I think I'll make my own instead of paying $25 for one..... I've been starting to worry about trashing my fortissimo speaker jacks. I need a switch on primary output (for front speaker/headphone) and another port for when I'm running 4 channel surround.

Go over to CyberGuys and search on item #190 0320

It's a good bit cheaper and mounts to the side of the monitor rather than in the case. I've been suing a couple of these for a while now and they work well

The only thing I don't like about the one at Cyberguys is that it only has headphone jack..the one that John P. talks about has Joystick, mic., headphone and speaker output on the frontside of the case..much more pratical and it still leaves a jack in the back of the case for speakers as well....

Stockjock,
Glad I could help you out. Just curious, what temp is that TBird running at and what are you using to cool it? I got my TBird 750 up to 900 at 1.775 volts, 123F under load with the stock fan and thermal pad. I ordered a Alpha PAL6035 and some Arctic Silver to try and get to 1Ghz.

I'm running a classic athlon ...my temps are running around 93f normal and 110f after a good long game....I'm using an Alpha P7125 HSF..the Alpha is one of the best HSF's out there. I also removed the plastic case around the PCB..but left the heatplate on...that alone brought my temps down by 4-10f. I also have 6 cooling fans in and around the case...

I'm using a simple headphones-splitter to output the sound from my soundcard to 2 sets of speakers (cheap-ass computer speakers and mini component system). It nothing more than a dongle with one mini-PL plug and 2 mini-PL jacks. Works well, costs 2$
