Is there a tank in GTA 4?

Not that I've seen yet and a tank would seem extremely out of place in this game. Come to think of it I didn't see any tanks when I got my 6 star wanted rating so I'd say, likely not. The best you're going to be able to do is to get an assault chopper.
 
I've been wondering that too. Is there at least a Bradley/APC like in GTA III?

I've only gotten 6 stars while on Liberty Island or while flying a helicopter so I have never seen the army come in. They've really made it hard to get 5/6 stars this time around. I haven't even been able to steal a SWAT van yet.

If it happens in real life it should happen in GTA

Bah, i hope they put a tank in the game... I really like the way things handle now with the realistic physics, ripping up the streets with an SUV is great, with a tank it would be freakin awesome! 😀

They went back to Vice City style play. I wish they incorporated SA style play. I too would love a tank and got to times sqaure and blow the piss out of tourists. 🙂

Maybe it's part of the DLC?
 
Either all the stuff they took out will be part of the DLC (I'd hope so if I were Microsoft, considering the ridiculous amount they spend to secure exclusivity of mere DLC...), or they purposely nerfed the game so they'd know they'd get all the sheep to pony up for the inevitable sequel(s) because they're running out of ideas.
 
Or they wanted to take the game in more serious and gritty direction and leave jet packs to James Bond. I miss the parachute though 🙁

While we're on the topic, I wish there were more guns. They obviously went for something more realistic, so no mini-gun like in Vice City, but we could have used a PK/M249 or a few more assault rifles. With the way they handled fire this time, I am pretty upset there was no flame thrower.
 
GTA4, while still a great game, has been disappointing. San Andreas beats its ass.

I'm still pissed that the driving is so broken. I can't turn around a corner without spinning 4 times. I'm not even going that fast...

Hood cam owns. I rarely spin out anymore.

Driving is more difficult than San Andreas but once you figure it out you should be able to turn corners and pull off all sorts of slick moves without losing control of the vehicle.

In regards to the rest of the convo in the thread, I do admit that I am surprised about how they left out a bunch of little things which many people enjoyed in San Andreas. I wouldn't doubt if some of them are released in some of the upcoming content patches though. Even if they do not do that I won't complain since they added tons of other little things all over the game which I enjoy a lot more than I did in San Andreas.
