Is there a survey about people who study ART?

I've always wondered if there is a study or a survey about what percent of people who study bullshit majors like art, history, music, etc are actually working in their field of study. Also, after how many years after finishing college do they get a job not related to their field.

One of my friends who did gepgraphy (not as much "BS" maybe as some of the subjects you listed) is now working doing tax at one of the big 4, and another geographer has gone to law school.
The person I know who did psychology is now working in human resources.

I fail to see how a specific major dictates your career, whether it's a science or an arts subject.
Obviously engineering students are going to go on and likely work in the field they studied, but that doesn't somehow invalidate all other choices.

Teaching. ;)

I would have liked to be a philosophy major. I saw something on TV though that summed up the job market. It was on Dirty Jobs. The person with the philosophy degree was replacing rodent-urine-spotted insulation in an attic.

I'll be heading up a similar career path and I wholeheartedly recommend some work or classes in engineering. It will go a loooooooong way towards creating feasible products or interfaces especially when you have to interact with the engineers proper.
