Is there a such thing as an unbiased news site?

Anyone have any suggestions?

I get tired of seeing the left and right angles to all the major sites out there and really just wish I could find a truly unbiased site.

real news or a consolidator of news links?

news.google gets links from all the various biased sources

real news organizations that actually generate news are all biased

All news sources will have some bias. That is inevitable. You can't possibly expect all news articles/shows to be exactly even in all cases. One side has to present their case first in a debate - bingo a biased result occurs.

The news is. Some of the talk/opinion shows tend to be a little right of moderate.
Pretty close there. One study of one Fox news program showed that their news is pretty close to the center (better than the other big name sites). However, in between their rare unbiased news programs are tons of far right-wing opinions, commercials, unbalanced debates, etc.

Fox is about as unbiased as they come. Fair and Balanced.

They must've been doing something wrong considering the vast majority of the viewers believed that Saddam was connected to 9/11 a few years back.

I try to read from a variety of sites althoug they end up being relatively left wing:

NYTimes
CNN
BBC

Possibly seek one out outside of your own borders?

I've found the BBC often rather biased, and the largest newspaper in Canada, the Toronto Star, might as well come with a free Liberal Party of Canada membership inside. However, the Globe & Mail is quite good - give that a shot.

Overall though you're best served by looking at an aggregate like Google News.

I'm going to have to try Google News. I used to like CNN but after seeing a "Look how fast you can reload a pistol" vid link in the middle of their VT coverage I got a little POed.

I've tried Google news myself many times and while it's good in the sense that it's from a variety of sources, it's bad because most of those sources are biased.

But better I guess to have multiple choices than seeing the reporting from one source.

IMO, Fox News is as unbiased as any newscast in their News section, ie not commentary. What New York Times calls news is much more left wing than Fox News is right wing.

Ding ding! People make fun of Fox but really don't know jack about news or politics. They just whine all day long about how O'Reilley made some stupid comment that slapped 80% of Americans across the face. That's commentary you sillies. Watch their news, and it's different. Hannity and Colmes is not news either.

I try to mix up Fox and MSNBC so I get decent coverage.

Find me a news site that has not a single human working for it, and you will be one step closer to finding an unbiased site.

I watch FoxNews and MSNBC as well. I'll tune in to CNN for Glenn Beck's show, though.
