Is there a such thing as a collapsable pull up bar?

I'm looking for something that can unfold and fold back up so it can be stored in a closet or under a bed or something. Anyone seen any or know where I can buy one?

Yup, I used to have one of them. You can probably get it at any sporting goods store.

The only ones I've seen fit in a doorway. It works like a heavy duty shower curtain rod with the ends that screw outward to lock into the door jamb.

Yeah, I've seen those. I'm looking for something that is a stand alone type deal. It will probably cost an arm and a leg though if I can ever find one.

Besides for the doorway ones, "collapsable" pull up bars dont exist - they wouldnt be able to withstand the pressure one's body would put on it

Doomsday, do you mean your friends has a collapsable one or a doorway one. If it is a collapsable one and you have the chance see if he remembers where he got it. I've been looking all over for one. So far no luck.

Oh, SilentBoB Go to McSports or Dunhams. They both carry them for $20.00. Or you can get them off their websites.

Oh a stand-alone one? I've never heard of them, I thought you were talking about the doorway one.
