Is there a such thing as a CD player lens cleaner?

My Mazda 6 2003's stock in-dash player doesn't work anymore.

It skips CDs - very badly. So I thought all my CDs were scratched because of the bad case.

Then I put in my friend's brand new CD. It's skipps horribly. Then I realized the CD player is whack.

Is this a common instance? Is there a CD lens cleaner of sort before I get raped by the repair shop?

I used one of those before for the same issue and it actually worked.

Yup. It gets all dusty, and that cleaning cd has a tiny brush on it that will run over the laser to clean it.

you can probably pick one up at your local dollar store...for a dollar...
