Is there a such thing as a 5V mod for a video card fan?

I have a Ti4200 GS and I replaced the fan with a ThermalTake Crystal Orb. I had software to control the fan speed (50% speed) so it would be quiet, but it doesn't work with my motherboard (A7V333) :(

Anyway, I've been trying to come up with a quick fix to this. I don't wanna spend any money on another fan. I was looking into a 7 volt mod, but that would still be kinda loud for me. I was thinking of doing something to get it down to <21dBA

Any help would be great.

Edit: Looking for a 5V mod right now, if anyone has confirmation let me know please.

I live 10 mins from them and can easily pick it up....but I wanna try not to spend anymore money on this. Buying the PSU to shut up my computer already cost me a good $100.

I was reading about the 7 volt mod, but I hear there's also a 5 volt mod? Can anyone confirm this to work with my crystal orb?

Many 12V fans will not start on 5V, and may not stay running at 5V even after being started. :(

It's not really a "mod" - the drive connectors put out 5V anyway. You just need to splice into the other pair of wires (not the 12v set). I think that'd be the red wire and its black wire, but I'm not entirely sure - I can't seem to keep straight which color corresponds to what voltage. That's what a voltmeter's for though.:)

If you feel like sinking even more money, you could try that massive Zalman heatpipe cooler that goes on both sides of the card. I've read good things about it. But it's around $30. It is passive though, so there's no fan to make any noise.
