Is there a sturdier version of this mouse?

That one, despite what the reviews say these dont take a beating and eventually develop a double click problem (click once and it registers twice) which is a pain when gaming, ive been through 3 of these and am currently using an MX518 which has proved far more durable.

I ask because i miss the button on either side, i used to throw grenades with the button over on the right side of the mouse. The left side button was melee, right was grenades, its tough to do the same with the MX518 as theyre both on the same side, that MS optical mouse is the only one ive seen with buttons on both sides :(

I don't know of any mice with a single button on either side, but there are several ambidextrous designs that have two buttons on either side

Razer TRON - new and expensive likely because its collector oriented, looks like it otherwise has typical top end features. This mouse has small dimensions and a flat profile which makes it seem best for finger grip.

Steelseries Xai - nearly identical size and very similar shape to the IMO1.1 you are used to, its also a fairly expensive mouse at MSRP.

Razer Lachesis - unorthodox shape is generally best suited for claw grip. New 5600dpi version will be hard to find for less than MSRP, but the older 4000dpi version might be able to be found for a decent discount.

Roccat Kova - can't comment much on this mouse as I have no experience with it considering Roccat products don't really exist here in North America.

Razer Orochi - mouse meant for mobile laptop users, although technically would fit the bill.

Discontinued options if you can find them:

Razer Diamondback

Razer Copperhead

Cool, the Xai looks decent, are any of these mice optical? I tried using a laser mouse once (microsoft habu) but was put off by the insanely high lift distance.

The Diamondback is optical although I'm not sure its well known for low liftoff.

I have the Xai and 3 different dark hardpads and it stops tracking when I have it propped up on two CDs
