Is there a specific time that most DNS servers propagate?

I just made a change and I was wondering if anyone knows what time the major ISP's and backbones update their DNS records during propagation.

It's set in the zone file of each domain. There is no set time that the server updates all the records. Usually it is set to 24 hours. So it would be 24 hours from the last time the DNS server checked that record. You can sometimes find out exactly what time it will propagate by using a few unix commands. I would need to know your dns server address and the domain you are updating to find out for sure. PM me if you want more info.

Just to clarify al little bit. By checking your ISP's DNS server it will tell you when that specific server will update. It doesn't necessarily tell you when it will propagate throughout the rest of the internet. You should at least be able to find out what the ttl(time to live) is for your domain name.

Our DNS server at work reloads once every hour, so any changes I make before the top of the hour don't start propogating out until the top of the hour.

You wouldn't happen to work at corecomm/ATX would you?

No I don't. I'm friends with someone who does though.
