Is there a site with LEGAL classical music downloads?

episodic

Lifer
With classical music such as Mozart, Handel, and stuff, does anyone know of a place to download legal license free performances ?

I meant for free, after all I would think that Mozart would pretty much be in the public domain. . . I was just looking for a performance of it that was license free. . .

The notes are public domain, but the work of an orchestra to transform them into music is protected by copyright. Violinists gotta pay the rent too ya'know.

Try Napster: for $10 month you can legally keep thousands of CDs on your hard drive in (actually quite decent) 128 kbps format. Try the 7-day free trial, though it requires a CC number for the "premium" version that lets you do this (lite = like itunes store, you can only buy music).

Thats what I thought about the orchestra. I just was curious if some school or something (no clue) might have performed them explicitly to be released to the public domain. I'll just go buy some used cd's - no big woop. . .
