is there a simple way to upgrade to a larger notebook HD, without reinstalling?

ok so I've got one laptop drive adapter connected to my desktop. Now how do I go about doing this over the network?

get dos network drivers for your nic...boot up in dos.. ghost your hd onto a network share.. install new drive.. ghost the image you saved onto new drive
