Is there a short cut or hot key that creates a new layer in Photoshop?

I hate clicking on the new layer button, a hot key would be so much faster. Does anyone know of any?

Oh snap I read it wrong. I read it as ctrl N. I was like that's an entirely new document instead of a new layer. Thanks.
