is there a seti util that will stop seti when i'm on battery power?

I've never heard of anything that can do that.

IMO, It would be best to not place a Seti shortcut in the Startup Folder and just manually turn Seti on and off when you want.

yeah i put a link in my quicklaunch, but i forget it sometimes (often). it shouldn't be hard to do, dnet did/does have the capability... maybe BOINC does?

If you're running XP, there's an option in Task Scheduler tasks to do that. So just create a task that starts SETI at startup, and stops it if battery power starts. :)
