Is there a separate media app or something for iphone that gives custom EQ?

I'm kind of a stickler for audio quality and while I have an iphone I've always had a proper dedicated mp3 player. Well that is starting to flake out and since I just bought the iphone 4 I can't really replace it. Really the biggest thing in my mind holding Apple back is not allowing custom EQs for mp3 playback. Are there any apps out there that add this ability, either by using a separate media player entirely or the ipod app itself? Unofficial or official, it doesn't matter.

yeah I would love to do more custom EQ... I'm constantly messing with the EQ pre-sets depending on what I have on, but never find myself completely happy with any of them.

Looked all around and I found NOTHING. I'll look into it. I'll tell you one thing - if it's even possible, it'll have to be on a jailbroken device.

Edit: I've done some basic DSP programming in the past. I've never touched iOS though. I know there's OpenAL support. The main problem would be hooking the system's audio output, I'd assume. I don't know much about that, but it seems interesting. I'm not much of a hacker, but I'll poke around 😛

Yeah I've searched high and low for a fix or app and haven't come across a single thing. There was one report of being able to sync your EQs you set up in itunes, but that turned out to be fake. 🙁
