I currently own an Abit IT7 Max 2 Rev2...it allows for IDE 1&2...there is also a HPT374 controller for 2 SATA or IDE3&4....this allows:

IDE1 Master: DVDROM
IDE2 Master: DVDRW
Slave: CDRW

IDE3 Master: Maxtor 160gb HDD
IDE4 Master: Maxtor 160gb HDD

there are all PATA

Are there any S939 mobo that will aloow this setup..I really hate to go back to DVDRW/DVDROM...master/Slave with my 2 HDD as master/slave

I do own 2 Serillel ATA that supposedly allow PATA HDD to be attached to SATA but my maxtor 160gb hdd do not seem to work

I want to upgrade to A64 3000 or 3200 winchester...I do not want to wait for NF4 mobo as I think these are going to be $$$ and probably not around for 2months realistically???

i can't answer that for sure, but gigabyte is known for overloading their motherboards with features. the voltage options (apparently) leave much to desire, but supposedly that's all changed with the nforce4

The Soltek.

IDE: 2x ATA 133 up to 4 Devices, 1x ATA 133 up to 2 Devices by Promise 20579 with RAID 0/1/0+1

Whoops, 4 masters on IDE?

You might try getting another controller card to do it. I don't know any boards that can handle that set up natively.

Thanks

On the Asus A8V(at least the deluxe) it does have additional ide but only one..so the HDD would have to run master/slave....
