Is there a reason people are not jumping on the Super Talent 2GB deal?

Is there a reason more people are not raving about the Super Talent deal ewiz has? You get a 2GB stick of Super Talent DDR2-800 memory with a heat spreader that runs at 5-5-5-15 at 1.8V and does overclock a decent amount for less than $35. I currently have mine running at DDR2-854 at stock timings/voltage and it's totally stable, have even heard you can hit 900 at stock.

Is there something wrong with Super Talent memory? No one seems to talk about it much. All I ever hear is people raving about the name brands. This memory seems to run just as well as most name brands, if not better. Granted it's not super overclocking memory, but it runs very stable at DDR2-800 at 5-5-5-15 timings at only 1.8V, which many of the name brands can't/don't do.

General thoughts on Super Talent memory? Please don't respond unless you have direct experience with Super Talent memory. I see way too many people posting on reputation alone and that's just ignorance.

My speculation:

- If you're willing to deal with rebates, you can get 2x2GB for quite a bit cheaper than the SuperTalent at eWiz. Even without rebates, there are better deals on 2x2GB out there when you factor in eWiz's shipping fee. Fry's had an A-Data kit for ~$70 and free shipping, for example.

- Normally, people tend to run their RAM in paired sticks, so that would mean running 2 of the 2GB SuperTalent dimms. The vast majority of people are still using a 32-bit OS, so some of that 4GB is going to be wasted.

my sticks work perfectly fine with the asrock 1333 mobo with my pentium d 930 overclocked to 3.75Ghz. no problems here.

I bought 4GB total of ST DDR2-667 from ewiz when prices first started dropping a year ago. Got 2x1GB first for $130 (doh!), then another 2x1GB for $65. It's great RAM. It OCs to 890MHz with 2.1v and loose timings, and my E6300 runs great at 3.1GHz.

No problem buying that RAM for me. I have 2x1gb and 2x2g sticks purchased since October. Using the 2x2 in an XP rig until my free Vista Ultimate shows up hopefully in March from the MS survey dealio. No reason to not buy 2x2 now, assuming you are even remotely interested in Vista 64 down the road. In comparison, the Buffalo Firestix I bought last February at $180 for 2x1 sticks (and even THAT was a deal!) have just returned from RMA ... those ST sticks seem just as efficient as the Buffalo stuff !

Using that RAM...using on ABit IP35-e with E6750 o/c to 3.2 ghz no problem. GOt 2 sticks of it and slapped 64 bit OS on it.
