is there a program to time your computer shutdown?

Do a little looking online for a script to initiate shutdown (Hell, IIRC "shutdown" is a valid command from the command line... At least it is in XP...).

Then:

Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Tasks

Schedule a task for it.

If your using WinXP try using a program called BootVIS by Microsoft. Theres an article in this mnths PCWORLD that gives you a few tips on how to use it. It can actually help you make your winXP machine boot a helluvalot faster.

Get Right will do it for you if you're downloading something big and want it to shut off after it's done. I dunno
