I've been using Yamaha External SCSI CDRWs for the past couple of years for burning audio CDs mainly from MP3s and some CDs. My experience has been that unless I record at 1x (sometimes 2x), my CDs will skip. Everyone talks about the high speeds available, but are people recording their audio CDs at the high speeds??? Is it a problem with my burner? or my software (CD-Creator)?
My current Yamaha is an 8x8x24 with a 4MB buffer. I'm utilizing an Adaptec 2940 scsi card in a PII 350 w/200+MB. One of the reasons I went w/scsi was becuz of the worries w/EIDE. But I'm seeing more n more people w/no problems...especially people using burn-proof writers.
Should I just convert my external into an internal scsi device? Is CD-Creator the problem? Or is my cPU not good enuff?
A lil help would be appreciated...thanks!
