Is there a point in laying mines in BF2?

I mean...... all your teamies do is run over them after you repair their vehicles during a tank battle as engineer and then they TK punish you. Even after you provide them a clear exit path. :(

Are the warning markers really that hard to see?

I dont think so. And also if you lay down the mines on an angle you can drive by them. Some players cant or wont take the time to analyze the terrain before going from point A to B. "Or how fast can I get to the other flag."

I know what you mean, I hate when you get punished even though it wasn't really your fault. I thought that the TK punish thing was an awesome idea until I realized how many people just punish no matter what.

Sometimes mines can be used to block off an entrance or exit, making it impossible for enemy vehicals to get in and out unless they want to get blown up.

IMO, they shouldn'y be used for that. It also blocks your team's vehicles. Leave a passable path, the enemy can't see it, so they're likely to run into a mine.
