So yeah, I was wandering the wilds of the net and came upon someone making the statement that someone discovered what part of the brain gives you the equivalent of a religious experience.

Does anyone have any more details/information about this? I find it interesting.
 
saw something like this on some news show (dateline, 20/20, etc.) a few weeks back. Basically, they found a genetic predisposition toward holding reigious convictions. Wish I remembered the details. The overall theme of the segment was heaven & hell - they had interviews with reigious figures from various beliefs (I remeber the Dali Lama in particular), agnostics, athiests, etc.

i read an article, they called it the "god zone". think they found it when doing surgery trying to explain someone's seizures. wish i could find the article again
