Good day all,
I'm looking for a Nforce2 board with IDE RAID. I'm looking to replace an IWill KK266R board. I see Serial Raid MB's, but that's not what I want. My computer has 4 HD's and 3 DVD/CD drives (52X CDR, 4X DVDR and 16X DVD). I need a motherboard that I can hook all these drives to. I know I could use a PCI RAID card for the HD's, but would like to avoid this to keep costs down.

BTW, I don't actually use the RAID feature. I just use the RAID controller like a regular IDE controller so I can hook up the 4 HD's.

Any comments are welcome.
Thanks.

The Gigabyte GA-7N400 PRO2 has support for 8 IDE devices.

As in alternative you could buy a board like the Shuttle AN35N-Ultra $66 and add a very good IDE controller card for about $35 that handles 4 IDE drives since you don't need RAID.

I have the gigabyte 7n400 Pro ( which is now discontinued) the board that followed was the pro2, it along with several other gigabyte boards have onboard raid controller.

Like you, I did not need the raid function and never will, but I bought my pro because I intend on having lots of storage drives, and currently have a drive in use on ide 3.

I had the chaintech, ** it only has 3 ide connectors on the board not 4.
