Is there a new Mario game coming out anytime soon?

I really want a Mario game, last one I played besides mario kart is Super Mario Bros 3. Are they working on one yet?

Super Mario Galaxy (working title possibly) coming out for the Wii.

But dude... you could catch up by playing Super Mario World (one of the best Mario games IMO) and Super Mario 64.

Super Mario Sunshine was terrible. A major let down for me. I have played and beaten all previous Mario incarnations. Just an FYI.

I disagree, other than a few stages, Sunshine was a great game.

Mario 64 is on the VC, and even got a minor graphical refresh. :thumbsup:

Out of curiousity, what didn't you like about it? My roommates and I had a blast playing through it multiple times. Some of the shines were INCREDIBLY hard to get, but were really really fun.

Super Mario Sunshine is a GC game, you can play that right on your Wii (with GC controller)
Super Mario 64 is on the VC

Might as well get used to 3D Mario before Galaxy comes out

I played Sunshine briefly, but wasn't a big fan of it.
1. Not in the Mushroom Kingdom
2. The water sprayer thing was stupid.

Considering that you never played it when it came out... as long as you can deal with the poor graphics by today's standards, most definitely yes.

No one mentioned New Super Mario Bros for DS yet? Great game even if it was too easy.

And I agree with the what others are saying about Sunshine... I think it may well be the worst in the entire series. It was Mario meets Captain planet. It just didn't feel anything like a Mario game.

Sure, great game, I own it, but it would require an entirely new system.

Except for the new SMB... there hasnt been a good mario game since Super Mario World or SMB 3...

None of the others had the '?' popping, turtle stomping, super mushroom/fireflower, bowser castle...
and they just didnt feel like mario.


if they wanna make a real mario game... they should remake SMB 3 in real 3d like Mario 64... but make it feel like mario!!!!!!

Super Mario games are always like 100% good(SMB3, Super Mario World, 64). Sunshine was like 90%. I had fun playing it, but Mario's always need to impress the hell out of everyone.

I'm really interested in SUPER PAPER MARIO... they pulled this from the gamecube line-up and I'm hoping they'll release it on the Wii. You can view some demo movies on youtube and what not. Also, SUPER MARIO GALAXY is coming out and looks pretty good.

Didn't like SMSunshine and actually played it quite a bit hoping it would get better. I too couldn't stand the water cannon thing. It was so un-Mario. Mario 64 was far superior (I STILL play it occasionally), and I hope Mario Galaxy takes a step back away from Sunshine and towards it's roots.

The new DS Mario is a lot of fun. I'll still go back and play Mario World sometimes. Never cared too much for 3D Mario.

Paper Mario on the Gamecube is a fun RPG.
