is there a nefarious Adobe plot against Windows Acrobat users?

It seems that the PDF format works wonderfully on Macs, but Windows has...issues. Speed issues, load issues, etc., especially when used with Internet Explorer. I'm sitting at one of those iFruit macs here at school, and PDF files load up wicked quick and don't lag the system (this is one of those boxes with Photoshop 5.5 for mac on it...kinda old). I have a 2.8ghz p4 with 512 megs of ram at home running Windows XP Pro, and the same PDF file off the net will take much longer to load, lock up my IE windows, and generally slow down the system.

Anyone else noticed this?

They're all out to get me...I know it...

But which versions of Acrobat are they using? My understanding is that Acrobat got much, much bigger and slower starting with version 6.0. I'm still using 5.1 out here, so I haven't compared them myself.

the mac I'm on is using Acrobat 4. Dangit, I need to downgrade lol. I think my PC has Acrobat 6, because I use the Adobe Creative Suite, which includes whatever the latest version of Acrobat is.

this weak little mac loads up pdf files nearly as quick as web pages!

I have the Nefarious PDF's first album....good stuff.....too bad he sold out and went commerical with his second album.

I always have trouble when I open a PDF file from within IE. It takes forever. But if I downlaod the PDF file and then open it directly it works great.
