True!

MPC + LAV + madVR is all you need
I looked into this and it is amazing what quality you get using these (I made it myself easy and installed Kawaii Codec Pack).
But besides that, it has not much to do with installing Quicktime, yes or no.

Reading this thread I decided to make one, based on all the work of others :)
It's a winrar-sfx file and you can look inside to see how it works,
It installs the original 4.1.0 (which is Quicktime 769), looks for the installpath and extracts the updatefiles from Quicktime773 to it.
You can downloasd it at

The latest update to FF disabled my QT plugin. Trying to fix it I found your post. Installed it and it worked a treat (after fixing FF).

Outstanding and a welcome hack, fapdrol.
Thanks for prolonging the QT Alternative legacy.

Thanks for the updated QTlite. I have one question about it. In my Firefox add-on manager it is showing two versions of the Quicktime plugin installed, is this normal?

I don't use firefox anymore (completely moved to chrome), but I think, if you click on "more" next to 7690, you can see which file you have to delete from the pluginfolder.

I see the files listed when clicking more but they are not in the firefox plugin folder or the qt lite plugin folder.
