Is there a mobo that has 3 IDE channels?

Just wondering if there was a mobo u could connect 6 devices to, instead of the normal 4.

They should make em instead of having to buy extra ata cards, yah?

My board, the ASUS A7V supports up to 8 devices -- 4 devices on the ATA 100 Promise controller (onboard) and 4 devices on the ATA66 VIA controller.

Its a socket A, 100/200 mhz FSB with the Kt133 chipset, blah, blah, blah. With the latest BIOS it supports up to a 1.4ghz Athlon (as long as its an AthlonB with the 100/200 bus)

i don't think IDE can support more than two drives per channel. correct me if i'm wrong though. so either you get one with two ide controllers...raid or just ata100 or whatnot...or you get SCSI!

Yeah, any board with onboard RAID can support more devices. You don't actually have to use the RAID, you can use the RAID channels just like regular IDE channels.

in addition to those options, you can also buy a IDE PCI card, some HDs come with them, then you can just hook it up to a standard board. But I'd get something with RAID onboard.

either the board got the addational onboard controller or you need to install on your own.
