I think the SlimX will play 8cm CDs (at least the 350 will), but he is probably looking for something smaller.

Too bad the Fry's in Seattle isn't open yet, the one down here in Portland also has that Philips EXP-411 on sale for $40.

FWIW, I have the Philips PSA-CD12 (the regular-sized Nike one, I got it on clearance). It's actually a pretty good player. There are a few features I wish it had, but it covers the basics well.

i'm under the impression that the minicd players are small in diameter,but thick making it almost pointless i'd rather have full size and ultra thin.

cheap, lasts forever on batteries, the cds can work in regular mp3 cd players or cd rom drives...
