Is there a memory leak in Windows XP?

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed strange memory usage in Windows XP. I've been testing out the OS, trying to decide between this or keeping Win2k Pro. I like some of the WinXP features, such as Cleartype, and some of the new UI stuff, but something has been bugging me concerning the memory usage. When I first started up about 6 hours ago, mem usage was relatively small, I was around 80 megs being used. But as the night wore on, I noticed that the amount of memory that Explorer.exe used continually climbed until now where it's hanging at a bloated 66megs of mem used for Explorer.exe alone and my main mem usage is up to 190mb. I closed down all my applications and mem usage was still hanging around 190 megs, up from 80 megs used 6 hours earlier. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this and could it possibly be a memory leak within Windows XP and their Explorer.exe variant for it.

I've been using XP pretty constantly for the past week, and it's stable as hell. If there's a mem leak, i'm not seein it. could it be another program you have running all day?

I think I may have discovered what is causing Explorer.exe to blow up to such a large size. In directories where there are pictures or movies, WinXP likes to load a thumbnail for each picture or movie and I guess these little thumbnails are loading up the memory on Explorer. I noticed that after I browsed my art directory with my piece thumbnails. I have probably have about 100 in there and it blew up Explorer to about 30mb after viewing the directory and allowing it to load the thumbnails. After I left it, it still didn't go down in size, so I had to log-off my account and log back on in order to get Explorer back down to a reasonable size.
