Is there a list somewhere of games that can't be resold?

Curious if someone has made or knows of a list of games which can't be sold. Either because they are tied to Steam, or some other service.
 
Check out reclaimyourgame, they have a fairly comprehensive list of games employing DRM and highlight the implications of said DRM for the user.

A site about DRM that barely mentions Steam anywhere. Wow. That's a pretty big omission.
 
One way is just to look at the games web site and see if it has any kind of online component, registration, multiplayer or anything like that. If it does chances are it can't be resold.
 
The quick way to determine whether or not you can resell a PC game is as follows.

Do a Google search for the DRM used on the game. If it's Steam. No. If it's online activated or install limited. No. If it's a disc check only. Yes. No DRM. Yes.

Now, I do realize that some online activated titles can technically be resold, but the fact it's online activated means it's probably going to be harder to do so. So IMO it's best to simply assume you won't be able to. Same goes for Steam protected games.

Right. I can Google them, but would be handy if there was some website that already had done all the work 🙂
 
Also remember that some games that have online activation upon release remove that requirement later on. I know BioShock did that—I bought it used from someone and since then I've installed it probably three times on my computer and never uninstalled it before a format, and I've never had a problem. That wouldn't have been possible two years ago.

I have only played the single player part so far, but on installation it didn't ask for a key and I have not had to create any sort of account yet. Of course, multiplayer might require it but I haven't done that yet.

In regards to Steam games, I will mention a tip someone else posted in another thread. If you register a Steam game to a unique, new account, instead of your account, then you should be able to easily sell it to another person. Just give them control of that account. However, I do believe that violates the Steam EULA.
