I do a lot of desktop publishing, and thus need to see the "page" in the standard paper orientation (i.e. portrait mode)
I know there are tablets, that you can turn to portrait mode, however (as far as I know) if you want to type with the screen like this, you need to get a separate keyboard. Which is fine while working on a desk, but when working on the bus/train - I need a keyboard which is attached to the screen.
Any ideas?

I hear you... I even miss the classic 4:3 sizing for stuff like that...

I fear such a laptop would be VERY expensive, specialty stuff. Like this guy from Xentex with twin portrait monitors for $5000

how about a regular laptop + extend screen using a tablet in portrait mode(eg iPad/android tablet) that you place on top of the regular screen ?

dunno whether it'll be cumbersome / battery-life etc
