Is there a lappy with RAID0, 6800/7800, 17" AND Dual Core?

Been looking for a new laptop for my GF, and can't seem to find one unit with everything. Here's what I want to get:

17" widescreen
Dual SATA drives
Geforce 6800/7800, preferably upgradeable
Dual Core Intel CPU
Up to 2GB RAM

I see that the HP DV8000T has dual drives and a gorgeous display for around $1200, but the GPU is a 7400 and I have no idea if it's upgradeable or not.

Then there's the 9400, but I can't see if it will take dual drives or not.

Any suggestions would be great 😉

I agree, and i dont know if theres a dual SATA configuration, i know for a fact some of the g15 series qosmios from Toshiba run dual IDE, some of the newer ones may have SATA at this point, but i dont know for sure, i havnt worked on them yet, they havnt been out long enough for any of them to come in for service.

Clevo has some dual-cored notebooks out there with RAID 0, 2GB RAM, and the 7800GTX, but from what I saw on Alienware's website, it only comes with a desktop processor (the Athlon 64 X2), but I don't think you are concerning yourself with batterylife anyway with specifications like that.

Precission M90 should meet your specs with the mediabay hard drive, but then you loose the optical. Why the heck would you put raid0 in a laptop? THey are unreliable enough already?

Can the RAID 0. It's worthless for your purposes, and using cheap onboard RAID invites disaster. I know, having had to rebuild a machine due to data corruption from the cheap onboard RAID of my ASUS A8N-SLI. I have used and configured RAID on servers at work for many years, so I'm not a newbie at this. Do yourself a favor.

Oh believe me, I know, I'm no newbie at this either, LOL. The HP DV8000t series offers dual SATA, but I dunno if the GPU is upgradeable. In any case, this machine will primarily used for high end 3D and Photoshop work, with occasional video editing and rendering (hence the RAID0 desire) while sitting at a desk. I doubt there will be a lot of "portable" usage, it's just that she likes to be able to take it with her when we go someplace. SHe's a workaholic, LOL.
