I know many folks will say just get rid of IE and use one of the Mozilla Browsers with native Tabbed Browser switching, but I would just like to find a plug-in/download that will enable me to do just this but for IE6. I'd like to find a free download that (hopefully) won't slow down my browsing or cause instability. I also use Google Toolbar 2.0, so I'm not sure if this will interfere with any Tabbed browser plug-in.

Thanks guys.

"...won't slow down my browsing..."

Tabbed browsing slows me down by a huge margin, all by itself! Why would you want to bother? I can pick a window out of the task bar a hell of a lot quicker than from a pulldown list!

myie2 is great, and there is no way its faster to go down all the way to the taskbar to switch windows rather than to push ctrl-tab or whatever you have it setup as a keyboard shortcut to switch windows.

Out of curiosity, from where in "tabbed browsing" do you get "pulldown list"? The whole point of "tabbed browsing" is to click on the tab you want to quickly and neatly navigate between pages.

I'm talking about Windows XP's, "Group similar taskbar buttons" option. If tabs works different than that... GOOD, cause that sucks!

well in crazybrowser its either click on the tabs on the browser window or just press f2 or f3

Tabbed browsing is exactly what it implies.

Ahh. KDE does that too, and I found it somewhat annoying (but you can turn it off). Give tabbed browsing a try... once you're used to it, you'll wonder why Microsoft was too braindead to put it in IE6..

Ive been looking. This is it? Tabs on top, instead of minimized windows in the taskbar? "Open new tab" is equal to "New window"? If that's all there is to it, I ain't gonna bother, but it's preferable to that "Group similar taskbar buttons" option!

That's the basic idea.

Crazy Browser also eliminates popups.

It also has a 'groups' option so you can have multiple pages load at once... for example have a forums group that I click to load ATOT and a few others up when I start my browser.

I find it very difficult to go back to using vanilla IE after using it for a while, but, IE + GoogleToolbar is a close second. If you really like google toolbar you can still use it in crazybrowser, it just wouldn't benefit you any pop-up wise.

I haven't tried MYIE so I'm not sure if it has anything else spiffy...

Crazybrowser hasn't been updated in a while. I mention that because--while It's very stable except, there is one problem where if you remotedesktop into a PC w/ it already loaded it'll give an error and close the browser completely. You can re-open it and it'll work fine from that point.

It happens in one other circumstance as well--it has something to do about it being already running when you switch desktops. Otherwise it's very stable.

i guess no-ones heard of Alt-Tab?

Too clunky, inelegant. I think of alt-tab as a means for switching between applications, not between different screens within the same app.
