Right now i have a K7S5A mobo with 2 x 128 = 256 of PC100 ram.. i was thinking of biting for the bestbuy offer on ddr ram this sunday.. is there a huge difference between the rams and is it worth the while to convert to ddr ram?? I need your opinion if you converted to the new ddr style of ram..

thanks!

Whoa!! Yeah, BIG difference! Instead of having 100MHz or 133MHz memory, you'll be upgrading to at least 266MHz memory! You'll notice a big difference!

Also, how big of difference in price is it a BB? They should be about the same price. They're lower than SDRAM here. Just remember you can run both types at the same time.

You can not run both DDRRAM and SDRAM at the same time on the K7S5A motherboard. One or the other.

You will notice a huge performance difference with 256 MB PC2100 memory.

In comparison SDR vs DDR on the SAME mobo. Performance increase is bout 10-15% depending on application use.

... and quite a bit more when going from 100 MHz SDRAM to 133 MHz "DDR266".
