Question Is there a ground loop between my monitor and my computer?

Both my monitor and my computer are connected to protective earth in different wall outlets. My computer and my monitor are connected via an HDMI cable.
In theory, this is a ground loop because an HDMI cable carries ground. In my experiences, I haven't felt any effect from the supposed ground loop.
Is there a ground loop? Does a ground loop affect the monitor, the computer, or my speaker's power amplifier in any negative ways?
Should I sever the ground loop by disconnecting the monitor from protective earth?

You are observing something made that way by design, deliberately, then questioning that it may be a problem?

It seems the only problem is trying to worry about things that you don't understand.

The problem with ground loops is when a small signal gets swamped by larger ground currents. There is no large ground current present on an earth ground unless some fault is present.

You should do nothing unless you observe a problem and then you should not remove any grounds, rather replace the faulty component.
