spec's are in my sig, is there any worthwhile upgrade yet or should i hold out longer?
i play everything at 1920x1200 and world of tanks now slows down into the teens when zoomed or if action gets heavy.

when the 6xxx series was out everyone said it wasn't really worth the cost to upgrade. any recent release that makes a good cost effective upgrade now?

You've waited this long, might as well wait a bit more for some 7000s.

Agreed. HD 7000 is due for release within Q4 2011. The 78xx should perform better than 69xx and also have 2GB of memory, but use less power. 79xx should be clearly faster than GTX 580.

7870 or higher

edit: CF is also an option but i would just wait it out.

you should not be getting any notable slow down from world of tanks at that resolution. I run that game the same Rees and never have had slow down with a 460 1gb at 750mhz and x6 at 3.8GHz. Not even when I am watching a DVD quality avi on the second monitor.

WoT has a bug when zoomed in, if explosions happen while zoomed the fps drops for a second, its annoying but easily fixed by downloading the FPS fix mod via the WoT forums.

Also, the game is single threaded so its a CPU bottleneck as my 5850s barely go above 25% usage.

Hold out for the 7xxx series card coming December or early next year.
