Im looking for a good, and hopefully free, webserver for win98 and win2000. any ideas.

apache, its great, also win98 comes with the person web server, and there are other options, but i recommend apache.

Ditto on Apache. It's what powers ~60% of the web servers on the net today!

IIS (Internet Information Server) 5 comes with win2K server/advanced server but not win2K pro....

You could try downloading the NT4 Option pack, which comes with IIS 4, etc., and then see if that would work with win2K....

Sorry to contradict you Poof but Win2k Pro *does* come with IIS 5, you have to go to Control Panel, Add/Remove programs, and it's there.... however, only NT4 server came with IIS, NT Workstation, and Win 9x came with PWS (personal web server)...just thought i'd clarify...
