I gather that the upcoming chipset for the P4 will be designed exclusively by Intel and support Rambus RAM only.

What about a DDR solution from Intel and when???

Intel has one designed, but whether they release it is anyones guess. I think they have it as a back up option and maybe once you start seeing cheaper P4's they might release it as a budget chip set, like the 815 chipset

i don't know what it's called... but the chipset designed for foster(willemette's big brother) will be a DDR only chipset...

i know it's not tehama(sp?) which is the RDRAM only P4 chipset.

And acording to Intel the big Itanium servers will use DDRAM instead of RDRAM. Servers need alot of memmory and RDRAM gets slower with more memmory.

I think Intel is just hoping that Rambus gets out their lifes as soon as possible.
