Is there a freeware program that allows me to have two different backgrounds on each of my 2 monitors?

One is running at 1024x768, the other is 1280x1024. Windows doesn't support a single image across both unless i choose 'tile' but since the vertical diemsnions are off, it looks like ass.

I dunno if it will do what you want but try UltraMon. It's not free though, there is a (fully featured) trial version.
