Is there a freeware program like Ghost?

I'm building a computer for a newbie. I'd like to provide them with a "rescue disk" so they can quickly get their system back if something happens. But they don't have the money to spend for Norton Ghost.

Anybody know of a freeware program that will make an image of a partition that could be burned to a CD and launched from the command line?
