Is there a fault with memory?

running patriot PC6400 (only one dimm, single channel). The other one broke. factory timmings are given 4-4-4-12, 2.2v. OK in bios i have given them a little above 2.2v but (not above 2.35) memory speed multiplyer is 3.00 (2:3). FSB is at 266 (Q6600 normal FSB value). Processor volt at 1.268v. I have also tried +0.1 to +0.3 to NB. Also +0.1 to FSB. with all these things set, i am getting memtest errors, prime err and often boot failure.
WhAT is wrong?

I know it sounds silly, but some memory ic's that are not Micron D9XXX actually enjoy less voltage.

Try lowering your memory voltage to 2.0v

try lowering further, and re-test.... if that does not sort it out you might have a bad set....

Last ditch effort... try the RAM in the other slots and test @ different voltages also..

If that does not cure you should RMA

pan, if by "PSU" and "secondary PSU" you mean that you have two separate power supplies connected to your computer, this could be your problem. Unless you add proper extra wiring to connect the various ground, +3.3V, +5V, +12V1, +12V2, etc of each PS to the corresponding output of the other PS, you can easily end up with slight voltage differences between the two PS resulting in voltage potentials across the MB, creating internal current loops or other problems.
Much better to use a single PS with a higher rating than to try to kludge together multiple power supplies.

second psu only runs case fans (6 fans), it is not connected to MB, has a seperate switch. I think I have bad memory. I think i have damaged the dimms by doing overvolting.
