Question is there a displayport to type c cable?

I don't think you're going to be able to find a simple cable or even a series of cables/power injectors/etc to make this work. It seems others have tried and documented their failures, but there DOES seem to be a way to do it:

That seems to be what you would need however It costs so much you may as well just buy a new monitor: DeLOCK PCI Express Karte> 1x extern USB Type-C 3.1 female + 1x extern USB Type-C - Amazon.co.uk

I guess I'll just go ahead with those chinese portable displays that also have hdmi and/or displayport in. Though they equally cost as much as a proper display monitor!
I live in a dorm, so I must choose wisely that draws minimum attention!
