is there a difference between Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0.0.125 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0.0.125

Kaspersky Internet Security includes Kaspersky Antivirus.

If you want the Kaspersky Firewall and other features that KIS provides, than purchase it. If you just want the antivirus then get KAV. If KIS is cheaper, then get KIS and install just the antivirus module.

Ok thanks for clearing that up....it's compatible with Windows Vista 32bit, right?

It works with 2K, XP (64 & 32), and Vista (64 & 32), although use the 30 day free trial first (you can just enter your license key when you buy it into the trial when you purchase it, no reinstall). You might be one with the mysterious slowdown bug: link

Ok thanks for the heads up....Before I go ahead and buy....are there any other antivirus that are better than this?

Iv'e been looking around and it seems like this and avg are the best....so would it just be preference on which one to use or is one noticeably better than the other?

From what I understand, Kaspersky has the highest find rate at this point and time. I am using the 30 day trial on my work and home box and I love it. I saw that it's on sale at Circuit City with a MIR. I plan to purchase it from there.

It uses 10MB of memory on my XP box, and it's usually rated as good or slightly better in credible independent reviews. I was really disappointed with KAV/KIS 6 & 7 in regards to slow browsing on some sites. Don't get me wrong, Kaspersky's detection rates are outstanding, and the new v7 is innovative, but there are other viable alternatives. However KAV/KIS after rebates is usually a sweet deal. Several months ago I picked up two 3yr. KIS subscriptions for $20 ea 😛
