Music CDs come with a fingerprint that denotes it's for music so that the RIAA and stuff can collect a levy on them. CD players are supposed to only play CDs with this fingerprint but I haven't run across any CD player that hasn't played burned "data" music CDs. There are no differences in sound either. Just use data CDs because they're cheaper and there isn't a levy on them (here in Canada, it's a couple bucks). I personally use data CDs for my music anyways.
