Is there a "dental term" for a tooth growing through the side of your gum?

My daughter has an adult tooth growing in and the baby tooth hasn't come out yet, so it's starting to come out of the side of her gum (still aimed the right direction it's not growing horizontally).

She has a dental appointment, but I cannot find anything on Google about this, or even what it's proper "dental terminology" is..

anyone ever have this happen?

my baby teeth were stubborn and a number of my adult teeth came in before the baby ones left. they usually came in on the inside of the baby teeth though, not on the outside.

i don't know if there's a term for it but eventually i had to have 4 of my baby teeth removed under novacaine and underwent about 2 years of orthodonture including braces and retainers.

I had the same problem when I was younger. Was it the canine tooth? Braces once all her teeth come it will fix it. THere isn't enough room in her mouth right now.

That's what I was going to say. Wisdom teeth that are growing in sideways are referred to as Impacted teeth I believe.

Yes, it a canine tooth. (I assume braces are in her near future).

one of my front lower canines did that, it was pretty gross! they had to pull one tooth to make room, then I got braces, and they went in and lassoed the buried tooth with a wire and gradually pulled it up, using the braces as an anchor. it took like a year, totally sucked.

I had a tooth grow out of the top of the roof of my mouth once. No joke. Had to get it removed.
