Is there a decent codec pack plugin for Qucktime?

Running Snow Leopard, using Quicktime Pro 7 and I'm looking for a decent (free) codec pack that'll play everything.

Specifically I want to be able to play AVCHD/MTS files in it.

http://perian.org/

that might be what you're looking for. ive used perian for years and its played 99% of any file format i have in quicktime and vlc, but im not entirely sure if it does AVCHD/MTS, since i havent used those formats.

Yea, if it doesn't work, then just get VLC. That is my 1-2 punch for any media file.

Well I tried it but nada, oh well. I'll just stick with vlc and movist.

Vlc was a bit choppy when playing back a 720P video I took but movist does alright.
