Is there a cure for stuck pixels?

I have one pixel near the center of my new LCD that is red. It isn't always red. It will also show the colors white and yellow, but when it's supposed to be anything darker, it just becomes red.

from what I remembered reading somewhere, it's a defect in the screen. I had a similar problem with a laptop a few years back. instead of red, mine was green.

I know it's hard to get a lot of LCDs that are 100% perfect. I've tried rubbing this one for a few minutes. I can't seem to be able to revive the subpixels. I guess I'll have to live with it. It's not really that bad unless I'm watching a video.

pixel is dead, nothing much you can do but send it back to the factory

take a hammer and smash the area, problem solved


seriously, i doubt any manufactuer is going go to take back an lcd with only 1 dead pixel. many have thresholds as high as 7+ the curse of lcds.

No, it's nof fixable. It's a common flaw in many LCD.
