Is there a cheap version of Flash anywhere?

I just want to make some simple cartoons and such. I'd rather not shell out as much for Flash as I did for my car.

Flash MX is $499. Is there anything in the $50 area?

.... No. They aren't really marketing to you, they're marketing to big companies.

Swish is a nifty way to do flash. Fairly inexpensive. A friend of mine has learned flash using Swish. He hasn't moved up to Flash yet since he can do a bunch with Swish.

$99 at my college bookstore.

Really? Cool. I wonder if my Ole Miss ID still works.... ;)

If not, you could always wait for next semester, enroll for one class, and then audit a week later.
At my school if you audit within the first couple weeks, you get full tuition for that class back.
