Is there a cheap cpu upgrade that would make sense for me?

Why not get an X2 chip? I got the 3800+ version that OCs to 2.4 easily and the advantages of dual core in multitasking or encoding are worth it.
 
The 3700+ seems to clock better than the 4000 in general (not sure why and it isn't that way for all of them). But that FX looks good, unlocked multipliers can go pretty far 😀
 
Yeah' it looks like for gaming, the FX-55 beat the 3700 and the 4000 hands down. Also read that the FX-55 easily O/C's to 2.8, if not higher.
 
Ordered the FX-55 for $139 shipped. It was too good of a deal to pass up.
