Is there a certain date that car dealers stop offering '02 models as new?

Should be very soon... til they sell out of the 02 models.

next years models go on sale around september commonly (like 2003's this year for example)

A previous year model that hasn't been off a lot is always sold as new. They start selling them as leftovers as soon as the following year model arrives on the lot

If a car has never been titled by a State it is considered new no matter the miles or age. Look at 6k plus demos and "executive" cars.

Dont want to claim this is true everywhere but I have seen it in several states.

THey wouldn't state it as new. .

more of Dealer Demo's ... since it has never been titled.. you get entitled to special Financing if the manufacturer offers it.. and also you get full manufacturer warranty as well.... as to a used vehicle..

also usually dealer demos are pretty decked out~

I plan on stopping at the local Saturn dealership this week to take one of their cars for a spin. If there are any '02 models left on the lot they should be cheaper than they were a couple of months ago? I've seen the Ions out on the curb already so I think any S-series left on the lot would be "02 models.

That's cool. I wish all dealerships were like that. I totally suck at negotiating. I was going with Saturn because I have family that own them and they give them praise...plus my folks can get me a discount (15% I think).

it's not hard to negotiate...

you have to be able to BS on your part and shop aroudn different dealerships..

plus check on the website for invoice price... total price with the options you are looking to get..

then come to a reasonable offer....
another method is you can type out what kinda car with options etc.. and the price you are willing to pay.. and fax it to the dealerships..

if they accept your offer they'll prolly call you .. or if they are willing to negotiate from your offer.. they'll most likely call you as well..
