Is there a CDRWin that's Win2k compatible?

I need to burn some things but I upgraded to win2k and none of my burning programs are working. They say that ASPI Device Manager isn't working properly....what does that mean? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Davegod75, I tried what you said...and it didn't work. Adaptec works fine...but CDRWin and DiscJuggler won't work. Any more ideas? Please let me know. Thanks.

go to adaptec and download their aspi32 updater to update/install the ASPI Layer files.
I don't want to mis-direct you so read the Readme first. You will need whether you use SCSI or IDE and a burner. I am SCSI so I am installed regardless!

Hope this helps.

Cdrwin3.8 works in win2k no problem. the problem is your aspi layer is not up to date.

I downloaded an aspi upgrade from win2kworld a while ago.

i am not sure if it is still up. The package has 3 files. aspichk, aspiinst and aspi32. aspiinst allows iede users to install newer aspi drivers (1017 or is it 1019). Then use aspi32 to upgrade them to 1021.

hope this helps

As monopoly said, those files that Iron Woode mentioned are also available at Adaptec's website. I think win2kworld has changed its contents and doesn't offer any goodies anymore.

Adaptec's site WON'T help you. They just have programs to check your Aspi files, but not to install them.

The program you want is called "Forceaspi" and the latest version is 1.7. There isn't one single place to get it. Just go to any search engine (eg. Yahoo)...and type forceaspi in the search box. I think you can download it from the 3rd or 4th option listed.

Ok, I've tried everything everyone suggested and still no go. What's going on? I even uninstalled CDRwin then installed it after trying each of the different steps. Can someone help please?

What version of CDRWin are you using?

The order is as follows: Install ForceAspi, then install CDRwin. It should work just fine. I just did this in Win 2k and it works fine.

If you are using a key that is invalid then you might get these errors. CDRWin is good at things like that. IF you have a valid key then I would suggest trying Nero site for there lasted ASPI drivers. They worked for me.

It's a legit code, and I already tried nero's site. Thanks, still looking for a remedy.

Ok, I tried using the Nero update for the ASPI dll file. CDRWin now works, but DiscJuggler does not work. This sucks....I need all of them to work...not one or the other. My search will continue for a fully functional driver. Thanks everyone for your help.

I sent you a link for the ForceAspi program. Install that and everything should work right.
