is there a board that supports newer Intel CPU's and DDR3?

I'm looking at putting in a newer pentium chip and motherboard. To save money I was looking for DDR3 boards at newegg and saw some B150 chipsets.

Is it worth it? are there issues?
I like the idea of coming from my old athlon X4 to something newer. I have an SSD already.

If I should avoid this, I'm open to suggestions.

There's really not any issues, per se. However, Skylake and Kaby Lake CPUs only support DDR3L (low voltage 1.35v). Otherwise, regular DDR3 (1.65v) can damage the memory controller on the CPU.

It's really just best to sell the DDR3, and buy an 8 GB kit (2 x 4 GB) of DDR4 for around $50 on sale. DDR4 runs at the lower voltage (starting at 1.2v), and is the future for at least for the foreseeable future.
